Recognitions
Sharon and Guy’s students are consistently recognized for the work created in their courses. Accordingly, Guy was nominated twice for Teacher of the Year by Columbia College Chicago students; Sharon was honored to receive the student-voted Silver Circle Teaching Award from the University of Illinois Chicago. They were both recognized for their teaching by Graphis, Sharon in 2018 and 2021, and Guy in 2019 and 2021. Most recently, Guy won the 2022 Advisor of the Year Award for Excellence in Leadership and his service to students in the Latino Alliance, held by the Office of Student Organizations at Columbia College Chicago.
Sharon and Guy have written about their teaching in Designer Magazine, a publication of the University & College Designers Association. Additionally, their recently completed collaborative project was one of only two works selected for the 2019 Communication Design Educators Award by Design Incubation.
