The Metamorphosis
Experimental typography

In page layout, the arrangement of type affects the hierarchy, pacing, and overall meaning of the information presented. Sharon’s experimental work seeks methods to update, reinvent, and transform the experience of encountering textual information. Her approach specifically involves the integration of text and typography in the design of the page, and employs methods of visual transformation to constitute a story’s narrative arc.

In this experiment in meta book design, the layout of a single spread continually evolves. The general theme of Franz Kafka’s short story, The Metamorphosis, not his verbatim text, is the inspiration for this investigation in visual story-making.
