Type Prêt-à-Porter
Outlying Exhibition | Seerveld Gallery, Palos Heights, IL | Completed in collaboration with Nora Renick-Rinehart (fibers artist)

Type Prêt-à-Porter comprises clothing items that utilize a single letter as the main structure or feature and explores color and style as aspects of an exterior face or outward identity. The color palette is graphic design-centric CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), the colors of ink used in printing presses and other forms of print production.

Type Prêt-à-Porter is a component of Outlying, our solo exhibition of collaborative works that was held at Seerveld Gallery, organized by Jean Carey. Outside of common design practice and common design formats, the works developed for Outlying stem from personal interests in and notions of identity and popular culture, whimsy and improvisation, as well as experimental work with language and typography.
